Jon Gordon is a speaker, consultant and author of the international best seller The Energy Bus:10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work and Team with Positive Energy and The No Complaining Rule: Positive Ways to Deal with Negativity at Work. Jon's next book, Training Camp: What the Best do Better than Everyone Else, will release in May of 2009. The message in Jon’s books and speaking presentations is such that NFL coaches such as Jack Del Rio, Mike Smith, the PGA Tour and the FBI have called on Jon to inspire and benefit their teams. Jon is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a masters in teaching from Emory University. When he’s not speaking to businesses or schools, you can find him playing lacrosse or basketball with his wife and two “high energy” children.
John's life is proof of the power of the human spirit. As a nine-year-old boy, he was burned on 100% of his body and given less than one percent chance of surviving the first night. He endured months in the hospital, years in therapy, dozens of surgeries, and lost all of his fingers to amputation. Despite the odds, John overcame these challenges and enjoys wonderful success in life. He is a college graduate, business owner, philanthropist, husband and father. His passion for empowering others can be experienced from the platform, in coaching sessions, through his work as a chaplain at a children's hospital, through his efforts to raise awareness for the St. John's Mercy Foundation, and as the Ambassador of Big Brothers, Big Sisters. John is the 2007 recipient of the St. Louis University Distinguished Young Alumni Award. In 2006 Energizer inducted John into its "Keep Going" Hall of Fame. He shares this award with baseball great, Cal Ripken, Jr. John's professional focus as an international speaker began with the writing, release and poignant response from his parents' book, Overwhelming Odds. Because of this book, John felt compelled to embrace his past, rise above his fears and share his message with others. In his first two years as a speaker, John has been invited to inspire hundreds of organizations from all over the world. He considers his greatest success to be his marriage to his wife, Beth, his time with their two little boys, and the relationships they enjoy with family and friends.
